Tournament Packet Rules and Guidelines
Exclusively Friday-Saturday 1-2 Day Events for all Fall, Spring and Summer Tournaments! The Management Team of HCBG is in their 24th Year Directing Club Events & Tournaments in the SE USA. Historically, Spring Events Averaged 51 Teams!

GAMEDAY OPERATIONS AND INFORMATION

Please note the following:
*** We are not permitted by Facility/School Rules to Open the Gyms to Spectators and Teams until 20 Minutes prior to the first tip ***
 
*** Cash Only at Gate ***
 

Please note the Important Guidelines For The Tournament:

1. *****DO NOT Show up at the Facility One Hour Before Your Game Begins*****

All courts will OPEN 20 minutes prior to first game at that FACILITY (School Rules), Please inform your families to not show up an hour before the tip, they will not be allowed inside until the gym opens, these are gym guidelines that we do enforce. 

2. Division Play Details and At Game Completion

If you are in an age group with…..

  • 3 Teams: Play each other round robin, seeding of those games determine #1, #2 and #3. #1 has a bye, and plays winner of 2 v 3
  • 4 Teams: Play each other round robin, at end of 3 games, championship and finalist awarded to best record or tie breaker as rules determine
  • 5 Teams: Each plays 2 games, is then seeded based on the 2 game results. #4 plays #5 for 4th place. #1 plays winner of 2 v 3.
  • 6 Teams: Each plays 2 games in their pool of three, then are seeded to cross play, 3 v 3 for 5th, 2 v 2 for 3rd, and 1 v 1 for Champion.

The master schedule is posted online here. Be sure to check frequently for updates. Any changes will be noted with day and time of re-post.

4. Individual Player Waiver
Once a parent completes their waiver for their athlete – they will receive an immediate confirmation email. Team Parents/Coaches – to ensure that all players have completed their waiver, we suggest having your parents forward you a copy of their confirmation. 

The waiver can be found and completed on this website.

This waiver only has to be completed once for the season, and is kept on file. 

5. Rules/Welcome Packet/Coaches Check-In
 
Coaches – You will check in for your team at the Main Gate Location (between the middle school and high school gyms) of NRCA

– Please review the Welcome and Rules packet  posted online site. Here are a few reminders:

– Games are played by NFHS Rules unless otherwise stated
– Game rules are printed on the tournament packet (available online) and at every score table.

 
Coaches Check-In
– There is one Team Check-In Location per Venue (always at your 1st game, NRCA is Main Gate only). At Check-in, Coaches Bands are provided (2 Max per team), make sure your scorekeeper knows this. The Head Coach is empowered to decide which other assistant or scorekeeper is allowed to use the other free band. Coaches must be present to receive, or you can provide a name that it would be assigned to and the individual would be able to retrieve it at the check-in gate location upon his/her arrival. The BAND MUST STAY ON THE ENTIRE TIME OF THE TOURNAMENT. If you remove it, then you will be purchasing one the following day.

The Home Team is always listed first on the schedule, and that team wears the LIGHTER color. Also, the home team is responsible for providing the official scorekeeper and book. (Please bring your own score sheets and/or book & pencil). A scoreboard/clock operator is provided.

6. Admission Prices
Admission to the tournament is CASH ONLY-Communicate this to your Families. We are unable to secure a strong enough wifi signal to enable the ability to use cc at this time.

Please note the following:
Prices:
$25 Weekend Pass (Good for All Weekend of the Weekend Event)
$13 Friday Night Session

$25 Saturday Session For all teams whether playing 2 or 3 games on a Saturday

Children aged 4 and under are admitted free.
 
COMMUNICATE THIS INFORMATION TO YOUR PARENTS PLEASE!
*Admission Bands MUST remain on throughout the duration of the tournament. We cannot accept bands that have been cut off or otherwise removed, and anyone who has removed their band will be charged a daily admission.
*Bands will only be attached to an individuals’ wrist* (No Purses/Bags, etc)
 
7. Scores & Brackets
All Scores and seedings will be updated during the tournament and posted online. You can access the results online.

The scores and results link will be activated by 5:00pm, Friday night.

All Game Results are to be initialed by the Head Coach following game completion. The Clock Operator will hand deliver the approved scorecard to the Gym Supervisor who scans and emails the result to our Game Day Operations Center in Asheville. Scores, seeding, and more are posted onto the live website immediately upon receipt from Gym Supervisors.

All teams are responsible for checking online to verify their game times and seedings! 
One major announcement that all need to be aware, NO COOLERS are permitted to be brought into NRCA or any facility at any time. The Schools do not permit any food or drink to be brought into the gym facility. As such, unless your intention would be to leave your cooler unattended outside, do not roll it into the facility. You will be informed that it is not permitted. This is an area that the school security will be walking around and enforcing throughout Friday and Saturday. 

8. Basketballs, Book, Clock
Clock Operators are provided, The Home Team will be responsible for the game ball. Typically, the home team is responsible for maintaining the official book and in the unlikely event a scorekeeper would have a conflict, the visiting team to keep the portable clock.

9.  Concessions are Provided
Drinks, Candy, Pre-Packaged Items are available at each venue. On certain dates, food trucks are available at the event.

10. NRCA/All Venues is a Non-Smoking and Non-Alcoholic Campus
At no time is smoking (either tobacco or electronic) permitted on the NRCA Campus. Additionally, no consumption of alcoholic beverages are permitted at anytime on the campus of North Raleigh Christian Academy.
